We challenge you to Dance for a Cause
Join the Choose Love Dance Club during the month of October so you can be part of the Reach Within Dance Marathon!
Choose Love Dance Club is challenging all members to dance for 30 days straight while raising funds for Reach Within rhythm-based programs.
For a reasonable monthly registration fee you will have access to daily online dance classes in a safe, supportive and joyful environment.
Don’t worry, if you can’t make a class, put on some music, dance for at least two minutes and share your video on social media or directly with the club!
You will create a fundraising page and set your personal fundraising goal (suggested goal is $1000). Then dance daily, sharing your marathon progress with friends, family and the greater community. Encourage them to support your reason for dancing!
Reach Within staff can help you set-up a manageable fundraising plan to support your goal. (For example...Reaching just 25 people for a $20 donation and you’re already half-way there!)
A reminder of why we dance…
Children and teenagers who have experienced abuse or neglect develop brain changes that make it difficult to regulate their nervous system. This results in maladaptive behavior responses that continue to perpetuate the cycle of trauma and have greater long-term consequences on physical health, mental well-being and opportunities for healthy social engagement within their communities.
By offering children and teens simple, rhythm-based modalities to first regulate the nervous system, we give them the chance to re-pattern brain responses while accessing their own healing capacity; so they can then process trauma with trusted caregivers who have also been trained in trauma informed care practices.
To dance in the Reach Within Marathon is an opportunity for you to create greater equity among marginalized populations… those marginalized simply because they experienced abuse or neglect as children and continuously struggle to be seen for who they really are.
